Hi! i’m Rene

and this is how my journey began…

I started photography  very late in life. My childhood was dominated by dancing and that was going to be my future course.  I even attended the prestigious Art Ballet Drama & Music School in Johannesburg. However, on leaving school I chose to study law. Seven years later  I became a mom. After working in the legal profession for 3 years I became  a stay at home mom. It was during this time that I pursued my creative side with art. Over the next 20 years I dabbled in many mediums, like acrylic, oils, watercolours, pastels and digital art.

However, one of my passions has always been photography. So in 2018 I acquired my very first DSLR camera… and I was hooked! Love photographing flowers  (clearly lol)  and some unusual subjects along the way,  focusing especially on light and perspective.

My path has lead me here and I would like to share this passion with you…

let’s dive right in …

here is a tantilizing taste of what I love to photograph

One of the techniques I adopt in my photography is the use of natural sunlight, both sunrise and sunset and the shadows of course.

textures

“I search for the realness, all the feeling of a subject, all the texture around it… I always want to see the third dimension of something… I want to come alive with the object.”

“Colour is descriptive. Black and white is interpretive.”
